Privacy Policy
This policy says what Soverene collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can delete. We wrote it to match what the product does today.
Who runs InvestEd
InvestEd is operated by Vignesh Coumarane, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. You can reach us at vignesh.coumarane@soverene.com.
Some nonprofits and other organizations may give their members a link to InvestEd. We do not send your data to the partner. We do not tell the partner who signed in or what you entered. If their link carries a tracking tag, our analytics tool records the tag (section 7).
What we collect
If you use InvestEd without an account:
- A random guest session ID, saved in your browser;
- The numbers you enter and the results we calculate;
- Your chat messages with the AI and its replies;
- What the chat is tracking in your conversation;
- An email, if you choose to enter one in the planner.
Please do not type your name, account numbers or other IDs into the chat. If you do, we store them and send them to OpenAI.
If you sign in, we also collect:
- Profile details you choose to give (name, phone, country, age range, life stage, how you make decisions, what you want help with);
- Saved plans and their versions, financial details you save, monthly check-ins, and stars you earn.
Blog comments: your name, an optional email, and your comment. The comment is public. Your email is stored but not shown.
Feedback, feature requests and optional notes. We only quote a note if you tick the box that allows it.
Collected automatically:
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and the page that sent you here.
- Usage events (for example, that you finished or saved a plan), without dollar amounts.
- A record of each calculation run, with its inputs and results, and of how the AI features ran.
Why we use it
- To run your calculations and show results.
- To answer your questions with the AI.
- To sign you in and keep your account safe.
- To fix bugs, stop abuse and limit overuse.
- To see how the product is used and improve it.
Only the people who run InvestEd can see account data, and only for support and security. We do not use your data to sell products to you.
AI, and what we send to it
- Calculators: our calculators run on our own engine and do not call an AI.
- Which AI: the chat and explanations use OpenAI.
- What we send: your plan numbers, your questions, earlier messages in the chat, and the profile facts that shape your plan if you gave them: country and state, age range, income and how steady it is, work type, tax filing status, life stage, and your planning preferences.
- What we do not send: your name, email address or phone number.
- What you type: if you type personal details into the chat, they go to OpenAI.
- OpenAI's side: OpenAI says data sent to its API is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in, and that it keeps abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless longer retention is required by law or is reasonably necessary to protect against harm. We also ask OpenAI not to store our requests for later retrieval. We cannot delete data OpenAI already holds.
- The AI explains. It does not give advice. It can be wrong. Check its numbers against your results.
Signing in
There is no password. You enter your email and we send a six-digit code. It works once, expires after 10 minutes, and has a limited number of tries. You stay signed in for 7 days. Your email goes to our email provider to deliver the code, or to Microsoft if you use Microsoft sign-in. We never ask for a bank login. You do type balances and loans so the planner can work.
Service providers
We use these providers to run Soverene: a cloud host and database, a sign-in provider, an email provider for your sign-in code, an AI provider (OpenAI) for the chat and explanations, and two analytics tools. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools: one shows how people move through the product, the other counts page visits and where visitors come from.
What they record:
- Page views, sessions, the referrer and tracking tags in the link;
- IP address, device and browser type, and a location worked out from the IP;
- A random browser ID, never your account ID or email;
- Events such as starting, saving, signing in or check-ins. These carry choices and counts, not amounts.
What they never get: income, balances, loans, results, form text, or anything you say to the AI. We do not record your screen or clicks.
You can block both tools with a tracker blocker. InvestEd works the same with them blocked. Your browser also stores your guest ID, a sign-in token, an email you used in the planner, and unsent drafts. Clear your browser data to remove them.
How long we keep things
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes. Sessions: 7 days.
- Saved plans and account data: kept while your account is active.
- When you delete your account, we remove your data from our live systems straight away, and from backups within 30 days.
Deleting your data
Delete your account: go to Account, then Delete account. We delete:
- Your profile, plans and versions;
- Financial details and check-ins;
- AI chats and feature requests;
- The guest sessions you linked at sign-in.
Delete only AI chats: go to Account, then Delete AI history.
What stays after a delete
- Copies OpenAI already holds;
- Public blog comments (ask us to remove one);
- Stars earned before you signed in;
- Analytics records and backup copies (backups clear within 30 days);
- Your Microsoft account, if you used Microsoft sign-in.
If you never signed in: email vignesh.coumarane@soverene.com. Tell us roughly when you used Soverene and from which device. Guest data is tied to a random ID in your browser, so we may not be able to find it.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the data tied to your account, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email vignesh.coumarane@soverene.com. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising. If a delete does not fully finish, the app tells you it was partial; try again or contact us.
Security
We use encrypted connections, sign-in codes that expire, and limits on guesses. No system is perfectly secure.
Age
InvestEd is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
